At Cambridge Springs Elementary School the visual arts program goal is to develop fundamental knowledge and skills, encouraging natural creativity and presenting problem-solving opportunities.

Art is an urgent progressive form of literacy that provides the tools for verbal and nonverbal communication. Making art benefits all students due to the opportunities for self-expression, group collaboration, and making connections between cultures and communities. The process of art reflects and enhances our world.  Art instruction provides guidance and skill-building opportunities while supporting personal choice and self-directed learning opportunities.  Students develop the ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate their progress and make critical choices in life-long process of learning through the creation of visual arts.

The mission is to provide all students with continuous and sequential study of the visual arts while encouraging their personal joy of aesthetic expression, the hard work of craftsmanship, and the necessity of art within the complete human experience.
